Local Schools Collaborate on Art Installation Celebrating ‘A Sense of Place’

Mill Gate is delighted to host a special community artwork in Schorndorf Square, created through a collaborative project between pupils from Woodbank Primary and Cams Lane Primary.
The initiative, titled A Sense of Place, is part of a wider programme delivered by the Collective Community Trust, designed to inspire young people to explore their local identity, history, and surroundings through creative expression.
The fantastic artwork is now proudly on display outside TJ Hughes in Schorndorf Square, offering a colourful and thoughtful reflection of Bury from the eyes of its youngest residents. Visitors can admire the imaginative pieces that celebrate the sense of belonging, connection, and pride felt by the pupils in their hometown.
At Mill Gate, we’re proud to support community-led projects that celebrate the spirit of Bury and provide a platform for young voices to be seen and heard.
Come along and enjoy this inspiring display – a true testament to the creativity and community spirit thriving in our local schools.
