'Cotton On' campaign

Mill Gate Shopping Centre is delighted to announce its support for the 'Cotton On' campaign, an initiative by Recycle for Greater Manchester (R4GM) aimed at promoting textile recycling and sustainability. This collaboration underscores Mill Gate's commitment to environmental responsibility and community engagement and forms part of this years ‘pass the positivity’ campaign.
About Recycle for Greater Manchester (R4GM)
R4GM is the public-facing brand of the Greater Manchester Combined Authority's (GMCA) waste disposal function. As the largest waste disposal authority in the country, GMCA collaborates with local councils in Bolton, Bury, Manchester, Oldham, Rochdale, Salford, Stockport, Tameside, and Trafford to inspire and encourage residents to manage their waste responsibly. R4GM's mission is to help residents see the value of waste and the real benefits that can be achieved by wasting less, recycling more, and recycling correctly.
R4GM's Initiatives
R4GM operates a network of waste and recycling management facilities across Greater Manchester. They develop creative and innovative campaigns to encourage residents to recycle more and waste less. Additionally, R4GM educates students and communities through tours and visits at their education centres, helping residents view waste as a valuable resource that can be conserved, recycled, or used to create energy.
How to Participate
Residents can contribute to the 'Cotton On' campaign by bringing their unwanted textiles to designated clothing banks located at all 20 recycling centres across Greater Manchester, as well as in supermarket car parks and select clothing stores. It's important to ensure that all items are dry before depositing them. Find a centre here https://recycleforgreatermanchester.com/find-a-recycling-centre/
