OPEN concept encourages the evolution of retail by making space more accessible
Established entrepreneurs and businesses are invited to come along to OPEN in Mill Gate Shopping Centre on 15th May to chat with experts on the journey to opening up shop in the centre.
Facilitated by place and commercialisation experts, PinPointer, the drop-in session will allow visitors to receive expert advice from leasing agents and centre staff.
PinPointer Place and Commercialisation Manager, Lisa Smith, said: “Setting up in business can seem a daunting process at first, but it doesn’t have to be. OPEN aims to cut the leasing jargon and break down perceived barriers to getting started.
In my twenty years working within retail and the event industry, I have seen many changes to our high streets and shopping centres. However, one thing that hasn’t changed for those starting out is the need for that little bit of guidance to turn their great ideas into reality.
I’ve seen the evolution of traders grow from small market stands to shop units, and even to multiple sites. Whether you’re still at the business idea stage or you need a new space to set up shop, OPEN can help kick-start your plans.”
OPEN will also provide an opportunity to get an insight into retailer life within the centre.
Mill Gate Shopping Centre Manager, Marie Gribben, commented: “The centre has been at the heart of the Bury community now for over twenty five years and our retailers are a core part of this.
This community feel is hugely important to us, which is why we work closely with our retailers to ensure their businesses are supported in providing engaging and enjoyable experiences for their customers.
We’re very proud to have businesses here which have been trading for well over a decade, and it’s a testament to the opportunity that exists within the centre to realise business growth.”
OPEN will run from 10am – 4pm in Unit 9 of Mill Gate Shopping Centre (just across from New Look). No appointment is necessary to attend.
