Bury & Whitefield jewish primary wins mill gate’s shop for schools competition
Mill Gate shopping centre has announced the winners of its Shop for Schools competition.
Bury & Whitefield Jewish Primary School has come top of the leader board and won £750 to spend on vital equipment for pupils. Located in Unsworth, the school was established in 1984 by a group of parents as a Jewish school for the community. The School has grown and developed and provides excellent state education.
Shoppers, pupils and parents had the opportunity to gain points for their favourite school to give it the chance of winning simply by collecting tokens for every £1 spent at Mill Gate’s shops, café and restaurants. Mill Gate kept shoppers abreast of progress by displaying the points on a leaderboard during the competition. Bury & Whitefield Jewish Primary School was one of twelve education providers participating in the competition. The others were Sunnybank Primary, St Peter’s Primary, St Stephen’s Primary, Chesham Primary, St Paul’s Primary, Greenhill Primary, Lowercroft Primary, The Ark, Woodbank Primary, Chantlers Primary and Bury C of E High.
Rafi Radnor and Alessandra Guerini was delighted to accept the cheque on behalf of the school from Mill Gate’s manager Marie Gribben.
Marie said; “It has been a great initiative to run in the centre and to see the enthusiasm of parents, pupils and our shoppers. This is now on our annual calendar of events and look forward to running the next one starting in October 2018’
