The owners at Mill Gate have announced that they are investing over a quarter of a million pounds on improving toilet facilities for shoppers.
Work is expected to commence mid-June on the brand new conveniences which are planned to be relocated to Minden Parade opposite Leckenbys Tea Rooms. The larger, modern new facilities include men’s and women’s bathrooms, disabled bathroom and baby change amenities.
The work is anticipated to be completed in early August. Mill Gate’s existing toilets which have remained predominantly untouched since the centre was opened in 1992 will remain open while the work is carried out so there is no disruption to customers.
Mill Gate centre manager Marie Gribben said: “It’s great news that our owners continue to invest in the shopping centre. The new toilet facilities are part of an ongoing programme of improvements that the centre is currently benefitting from. In 2016 the centre saw improvements to Lower Haymarket entrance and LED replacement lighting throughout the car park. All of these additions focus on improving our customer experience.”
“These new facilities will offer a clean, safe and spacious environment that we are sure visitors will greatly appreciate. These facilities will remain in line with the centre’s sustainability policy, they will also use energy efficient lights and hand-dryers.”
